Red Travertine Vein-Cut Sawn-Cut is an Iranian natural stone with a linear vein pattern and an untreated surface. The stone block is cut parallel to its natural bedding, revealing long red, white, grey and brown bands. After sawing, the surface is left without polishing, honing or mechanical texturing.

This processing method preserves the original appearance of the cutting stage. Light saw marks, open pores and natural color differences may remain visible. The result is a flat, matte and slightly rough surface suitable for architectural projects and further processing.

Red Travertine Vein-Cut Sawn-Cut combines a particular cutting direction with a raw surface finish. Vein-cut means that the block is sawn parallel to the natural bedding of the travertine. This direction displays the geological layers as long and relatively parallel lines.

Sawn-cut describes the surface immediately after mechanical cutting. Unlike a polished finish or honed finish, no secondary grinding is used to remove the saw pattern or create a reflective surface.

Natural Characteristics of Iranian Red Travertine

Red Travertine is a calcium-carbonate stone. Its red, orange and brown colors are associated with natural iron compounds. White, cream, grey and darker veins may pass through the red background.

Production Process

The production of Red Travertine Vein-Cut Sawn-Cut normally includes the following stages:

  • Use mortar, adhesive and grout compatible with calcareous natural stone.
  • Provide proper drainage and movement joints for outdoor installation.
  • Apply a compatible penetrating sealer where moisture or staining is expected.
  • Remember that sealing reduces absorption but does not waterproof the stone.
  • Test filler, adhesive and sealer on a physical sample before full installation.
  • Use mechanical anchoring for façade panels when required by engineering calculations.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Clean Red Travertine Vein-Cut Sawn-Cut with a pH-neutral product formulated for natural limestone or travertine. Avoid vinegar, acidic cleaners and harsh chemicals. Construction residue should be removed without grinding or changing the original surface unless additional processing is planned.
