Professional Introduction to Gohare Limestone

Gohare Limestone is one of the most well-known and best-selling building stones in Iran and worldwide. Its neutral color, uniform texture and tone, lack of veining, high CNC cutting capability, and wide usability in urban and architectural projects have given it a special position in the façade industry.

This stone is extracted from the mountains of the Gohare region in Lorestan Province. Due to its geological age, calcareous structure, surface smoothness, and high workability compared to other limestones, it is a popular choice among architects and contractors.

In terms of color and texture, Gohare Limestone typically appears in a range from light cream to grayish cream. It is available in multiple “sorts,” which do not define its quality grade but rather classify the stone according to fossil presence—categorized into low-fossil, medium-fossil, and high-fossil sorts.
A major advantage of this stone is that designers can easily use it for façades as well.
This sorting system allows designers to match the stone to different architectural styles—whether classic or modern.

Regarding technical characteristics, Gohare Limestone has relatively low-water absorption compared to other limestones (typically between 1.5% and 2.5%), making it suitable for dry and semi-dry regions as well as urban applications. Its density is usually between 2550 and 2650 kg/m³, indicating adequate strength and ideal weight for façade usage.
Due to its fine-grained and calcareous structure, it is highly suitable for CNC carving, precise cutting, architectural elements, and polishing.

In terms of durability, Gohare Limestone is more sensitive to cold climates and areas with continuous freezing–thawing cycles; therefore, in very cold climates, it should be used with protective coatings and waterproofing. In contrast, in warm, dry, and moderate climates, it performs with excellent stability and long-term durability.

In the field of supply and production, Negin Sang Karimi (Karimi Stone), as the holder of the exclusive Gohare quarry license, has the capability to extract, process, and supply this stone in large and uniform quantities. The company has completed major projects using Gohare limestone in Italy, Russia, and the United Kingdom.
Owning the quarry enables the company to ensure quality control, precise sorting, continuous supply, and stable pricing for large domestic and international projects. From tile and slab production to CNC components (traditional or CNC-machined) and façade elements, all processes are carried out in Karimi Stone’s factories.

Quality assurance, strict attention to QC procedures, and various customized packaging methods for export and domestic clients—each prepared to its market needs—are all provided professionally and expertly, ensuring no concerns regarding transportation or logistics until the Gohare Limestone product reaches the customer.
