About This Material

White Granite Flamed: Outdoor Paving, Cubic Stones and Global Supply

White Granite Flamed is a dense Iranian natural stone processed with controlled high-temperature flames to create a rough, textured surface. This thermal finish improves surface grip compared with polished granite and makes the material suitable for outdoor paving, pedestrian areas, steps and high-traffic architectural spaces.

The stone generally has a white to light-grey background with naturally distributed grey and black mineral grains. After flaming, the mineral structure becomes more visible and the surface develops a rugged, non-reflective appearance.

What Is a Flamed Granite Finish?

A flamed finish is produced by directing a controlled high-temperature flame across the surface of granite. Rapid heating causes some surface minerals to expand and break away in very small particles. This process creates a rough, grainy texture without using chemical surface treatments.

The thermal treatment changes the texture and visual character of White Granite Flamed, but it does not replace the need for correct stone selection, thickness, installation or engineering. The final performance depends on the quality of the granite, consistency of flaming and conditions of use.

Appearance and Natural Variations

White granite is an intrusive igneous rock generally containing quartz, feldspar, mica and darker minerals. These components create a white or light-grey background with visible black and grey grains.

Natural differences in colour, grain size and mineral distribution are expected. The flaming process can also reveal small differences between pieces more clearly. For large paved areas, sample approval and project-based sorting are recommended.

Professional sorting helps maintain the approved visual range of White Granite Flamed, but natural stone should not be expected to have the complete uniformity of an artificial product.

Main Characteristics of White Granite Flamed

  • Rough surface: Thermal processing creates a textured, non-reflective finish.
  • Improved surface grip: The flamed texture generally provides more traction than polished granite.
  • Dense structure: Granite is suitable for many demanding paving applications.
  • Wear resistance: Appropriate for regularly used pedestrian areas when correctly specified.
  • Weather suitability: Can be considered for exterior projects after verifying technical requirements.
  • Natural appearance: The texture emphasizes the mineral grains of the stone.
  • Custom production: Available as tiles, pavers, steps, kerbstones and cubic stones.
  • Low light reflection: Suitable for large exterior areas exposed to strong daylight.

Is Flamed Granite Completely Non-slip?

White Granite Flamed generally offers better grip than polished or finely honed granite. However, no natural-stone surface should be described as completely non-slip without testing.

Slip resistance depends on the flaming intensity, surface contamination, water, ice, footwear, installation slope and maintenance. For public spaces, pool areas, ramps and wet zones, a project-specific slip-resistance test should be completed.

Applications of White Granite Flamed

The textured surface of White Granite Flamed is suitable for many outdoor and high-traffic applications:

  • Public sidewalks and pedestrian zones
  • Urban squares and public parks
  • Garden paths and landscape projects
  • Outdoor stairs and landings
  • Building entrances
  • Driveways and parking entrances
  • Pool surrounds, subject to slip testing
  • Courtyards and terraces
  • Kerbstones and urban elements
  • Cubic granite paving stones
  • Exterior wall cladding
  • Custom cut-to-size architectural pieces

The correct thickness, bedding system, joint width, drainage and installation method must be selected according to the load and project environment.

Flamed White Granite Cubic Stones

Granite cubic stones are small paving units manufactured in standard or project-specific dimensions. Their compact format and textured surface make them suitable for walkways, courtyards, public squares, landscape borders and areas with repeated pedestrian use.

White Granite Flamed cubic stones can be produced with different edge and surface combinations. Depending on project requirements, visible faces may be flamed while other sides remain sawn, split or cut.

Before ordering, the customer should specify the dimensions, tolerances, surface treatment, edge condition, required quantity, packing method and intended application.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Remove sand and loose particles regularly.
  • Use water and a pH-neutral natural-stone cleaner.
  • Avoid untested acidic or aggressive chemical products.
  • Do not allow oil or coloured liquids to remain on the surface.
  • Use pressure-washing equipment only at a safe pressure and distance.
  • Check joints and drainage systems periodically.
  • Use a compatible impregnating sealer only when required.

Export Packaging and Global Supply

White Granite Flamed can be packed in wooden crates, reinforced pallets, jumbo bags or other project-specific packaging. Cubic stones and paving units must be secured to limit movement during loading and transportation.
