Natural stone can create a durable and coordinated elevator floor that matches the lobby and surrounding interior design. The combined weight of the stone, backing, adhesive and substrate must remain within the elevator manufacturer’s permitted load. Accurate cutting is required around the cabin edges, door threshold and access panels. A honed or suitably textured finish may be preferable where slip resistance is required.
