Cross-cutting reveals the distributed mineral pattern, sandblasting creates controlled roughness, and brushing softens the sharpest points without removing the textured character.

This combined finish offers a more comfortable touch than a solely sandblasted surface while retaining lower reflection and generally more grip than polished travertine. It is suitable for façades, landscape projects, courtyards and selected pedestrian areas.

What Is Red Travertine Cross-Cut Sandblasted and Brushed?

Red Travertine Cross-Cut Sandblasted and Brushed combines a specific cutting direction with two consecutive surface treatments. In cross-cut production, the block is cut across its natural bedding. This creates cloudy, circular and irregular patterns rather than the long lines of vein-cut travertine.

The surface is first treated with a controlled abrasive blast. This process removes surface shine and creates a granular texture. Rotary abrasive brushes are then applied to reduce sharp surface points and produce a smoother tactile finish.

Natural Characteristics of Iranian Red Travertine

Red Travertine is a sedimentary natural stone composed mainly of calcium carbonate. Its red, orange and brown tones are linked to naturally occurring iron compounds.

Sandblasting and Brushing Process
