General Description:

Pietra Grey Marble (Lashotor) is one of Iran’s most luxurious dark marbles. It features a deep grey background with fine white veins that vary in intensity from block to block. In lower grades, faint halos—commonly known as “Black Stein”—may appear.

Pietra Grey is internationally recognized and widely used in high-end interior design. After processing, the stone shifts to a charcoal-grey shade with sharper white veins, making it a preferred material for luxury flooring, wall cladding, staircases, countertops, bathrooms, and upscale interiors.

Technical Appearance & Classification

This marble is categorized primarily by color tone, vein structure, and finish type.

Technically, Pietra Grey is a dense calcitic marble, with color variations ranging from light grey to deep charcoal depending on the quarry layer.

Important Notes:

• Pietra Grey is ideal for book-matched and four-matched (4-match) slab layouts.

• In Middle Eastern markets (e.g., Oman, Bahrain), it is also known as Armani Grey.

• Suitable for both modern and classic interior designs.

• Combines beautifully with white marbles such as Aligoodarz, Scato, Bianco, Neyriz, and Ghorveh, enhancing the beauty of any space.

Finishing Options

Pietra Grey Marble supports a wide range of finishes:

Honed – matte and smooth, ideal for interior walls and floors

Polished – glossy and reflective, suitable for luxury settings

Leathered (Brushed) – textured and modern for feature walls

Sandblasted – slip-resistant for specific applications

Bush-Hammered – for rustic or outdoor textures

Because it has distinctive veins and tonal variations, face-matching and sorting before installation is essential.

Bush-Hammered Pietra Grey

Two methods are available:

·         Hand hammering

·         Machine Bush-Hammering

Notes: The finish is categorized as heavy-hammered or light-hammered, based on project requirements.

This is one of the oldest processing styles for Pietra Grey in the Iranian market.
